Printer Cabinet (2022)

I have two 3D printers. A Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ and a Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K Resin 3D Printer. The resin printer can’t be used in the house due to the resin fumes. Additionally, I wanted to move the Prusa into the garage as well (though it moved back in when it got too hot).

So, I built this cabinet to house both printers. The Prusa also gained remote control via OctoPrint. I also used a second webcam on OctoPrint to monitor the Phrozen printing. Along with OctoPrint, I also have smart lighting controls for LEDs strips in each box, power to the printers, power to each cabinet fan and power to the Raspberry PI running OctoPrint.

In general, this worked well until my garage got above 95 degrees and prints started failing. I moved the Prusa inside, as that was what I was using, and haven’t moved it back yet. It will happen, but it has been really convenient right outside my den so I can check on progress.

Along with the obvious woodworking, there are various 3D printed components:

  • Case for screen
  • Case for Raspberry PI
  • Camera support
  • LED mounting brackets
  • Door hinges
  • PVC adapters and fan mounts
