I haven’t posted in awhile. Mostly because we’ve been busy with a partial bathroom remodel, but we have also started to do a small amount of local traveling.
Blinky is nearing completion and I needed a place on the patio to house the electronics. I bought a plastic utility box on Amazon and was planning to install as is. However, after attending a class on designing spaces at Tiki Oasis, I really felt it needed to be themed…and I also realized I needed to commit to a theme. So, at the moment, the general theme is Tiki+Toons (all of them). I will probably come up with some better names and maybe even give it some sort of Toon-townish name.
I’ll be using PVC to hide the wiring. The PVC will be painted as pipes. Combined with the two fake, bamboo-ish pipes, I’ll have one for each of the major Mai Tai ingredients. Each will get some sort of decorative indicator (ie a 3D painted and painted lime slice) for it’s purpose. I might add some Tiki Bob’s, or some other inspiration, to the bottom space.
