I’ve been doing a variety of digital and small crafting projects over the last few months, but nothing big enough to warrant a post.
The mallet shown above is my first successful lathe project. I’ve tried to turn one or two things prior, but nothing really came from it. To get past this block and to motivate myself to do more, I signed up for a basic lathe class from the Arizona Woodturners Association. I joined this group over a year ago, but never made it to a meeting because…things got busy and it is hard going to be with a bunch of strangers. 🙂
The class is 5 weeks and we meet every other week. This project was done in week 3. I did all of the turning in the class. Then, sanded and finished the mallet at home.
