I finished the seating, got the steering done&#8230; I also had the chain in place and&#8230;mostly drivable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it had so many things wrong with it that I abandoned the effort:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heavy and a lot of work to petal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I didn&#8217;t like the steering at all<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And, the most important reason, my wife was too scared to use it.  Without it being something she would consider doing with me, it was pointless.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On the wife factor, since then we have tried a regular tandem bike, with large training wheel like attachments. Again, too scary. At this point, I&#8217;ve given up most options for us to bike together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for myself, I suspect there may be a bike in my future, but that is still TBD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A picture from midway through the project.
